Mainly Music

Mainly Music is a program for all children from birth to school age and their parents. We find the mums and dads love it almost as much as the kids!

All up  Mainly Music goes for one hour. We kick off with thirty minutes of music, songs and rhymes all with actions, dance and movements. This is a special time where the parent gets to focus on their child/children without interruptions as they sing, dance and share together. A feature of our session is that we endeavour to include movements that enhance a child’s development. These include crossing the midline, crawling, visual exercises, balancing and jumping to stimulate the all important vestibular system.  There’s lots of songs about numbers, colours, body parts and concepts such as up/down, big/ little, over/ under all adding to the learning experience.

After the music is finished mats are placed on the floor for the children to sit on and they are served morning tea which is gluten, dairy and nut free. Once morning tea for the kids has finished we bring the toys out. Whilst the kids are playing it’s morning tea for the grown ups – usually there’s some home baking passed around and brewed coffee.  This is the time mums and dads get to connect with each other.
